YOGMANTHAN-BANDHAS

In Sanskrit, bandha means to lock,to hold or to tighten. There are three main bandhas

1. Mula Bandha

2. Uddiyana Bandha

3. Jalandhara Bandha

Bandhas have an effect on physical body & psychic body.They are associated with energy centres in spine & brain. The root of nervous system begins at root of pelvic floor and ends at crown and by using bandhas nervous system is stimulated and influenced and modifies the brain receives information by balancing mental & physical function. By engaging these locks we are able move energy in and up and flowing back in to our system thru the nadis. The body become more grounded more focused mind become clearer and stabilized. In Bandhas contraction or squeezing of pelvic floor,abdominal muscles and cervical muscles are involved. Systematic contraction and relaxation of muscles help to regain the complete physical and mental relaxation.
